Hello house, please I need serious help on this issue. So I was involved in a 5 months relationship with a colleague at work, we are both single but he had just come out of a 2 year old relationship with his ex few onths before we started dating. Things were going on fine till he called me and said he couldn't continue with the relationship again that he still had feelings for his ex girlfriend. He came to work the following day and begged that we be friends and I agreed. I had not seen him in over a week since he tried to apologize and wanted to be friends. During that conversation, I somehow ended up being okay with him...but after having time to process it I realized how wrong and horrid that conversation was. Anyways, today he is around...I went to the common area while he was there and he asked me how things were going, all I said was "oh, they're fine" then I talked to my other coworker and left... Why does this feel childish? I really don't want to engage him at all, saying nothing felt wrong as I'm trying to be civil and professional, but giving him a short answer felt petty? How does everyone do this? I don't want to give him the satisfaction of thinking I'm still hung up on him (even if I am) because I'm being petty. Am I? Kindly advise me please.
