Mamas please advise me. I have been going out with this man for 4 years now and I really love him. I have been hoping and waiting that he change his mind on this issue. I will be 30 in January and time is not on my side. Now the issue is that he has been married before. He told me she was a family friend and so both their parents forced them to date and get married. The marriage was full of issues and fighting to the extent that he said he wasnt doing again. According to him his marriage was total hell, and has left a very bad taste in his mouth. Just the word marriage makes him uncomfortable. Now that was 4 years ago. But of recent I started asking him about marriage again and he told me that we will probably never get married, but can consider us having children and but on the subject of marriage he doesn't see the point.
For a well brought up girl from a good family, it is not possible for me to be having children for a man without being married. We have different upbringings. His mom has been divorced 3 times but me on the other hand my parents have been married for almost 40 years.
Despite his issues, I have been looking forward to being married and being able to call him my husband. We have had a good relationship. I love him, and I know that he loves me. I just don’t know how much longer I can wait for him to change his mind. What do you think I should do?
