I don’t know if anyone has experienced this before but I’m scared, after having our second child I decided to go for a Mirena IUD and it has been up there for about 4 years now now that we want another child I went to the doctor but no luck he couldn’t find it! I admit when it was first inserted my husband could feel the string, I was afraid it could come off so I went back to the doctor who trimmed the strings and I never thought that could be a problem.
Now this doctor is unable to find my IUD, I know the IUD is still there as I’ve not concieved since that time. My doctor tried so hard to remove the device, he couldn’t find it, so he said I should come back the second day.
The second day, two pills were inserted vsginally to help soften the cervix so that he could look for it still, nothing. Now I’m just so afraid maybe it’s hidden somewhere in my body, I didn’t know having an IUD could give me this much trouble, should I try another hospital or go for hysteroscopy as my doctor has advised? With this procedure the doctor will insert a device to to look inside my uterus, he will put this device through my vagina. Has anyone here heard of this or done this before. I am scared.
