I am from a polygamous family

Hello everyone, please i have an urgent issue, I am from a polygamous family and my dad is late. I am about to get married and my father's people are looking like they are going to cause problems the type that can send a man away, truth is these people do not care about me and my siblings. my mother is looking to give my fiance and I her blessings so we can go ahead and marry. so now my mother wants to arrange her family members to collect the dowry maybe with one of my brothers present..please what do you people advice. thank you
