Hello house, please I need advice. Here's my story;  I've been dating my guy for around 2 years and he's amazing. He's turning 30 this year and i'm in my mid 20s. He was a "yahoo boy" before he met me and now he went back to school to get his college diploma in Computer Science. He has around 1 year+ more to go before graduating. And because of this, he is very poor, can't even afford to take me out on dates. He moved back to his Dad's place to save cost on rent which i think is really smart but he still needs to pay for his car etc. I can't really complain much about him & he treats me with respect. He made a lot of positive changes in the past year and we have a pretty good relationship. He's the type of boyfriend that every girl would dream to have. The problem is that i've been paying for most of our dates/stuffs since i'm already working (i don't earn much but i still live at home) and i am starting to resent it especially when i see all my friends' BF paying for them most of the time. He does work part time at a supermarket, whenever he has free time. His financial situation wouldn't change much for at least another year or so
and I know I can't expect more from him since he has been trying so hard. But it scares me to think that it might never improve and always stay this way. My family is upper middle class & i have never struggled financially so it is hard for me to understand how it's like to be that poor. He has been hinting at proposing & we have plans to move together after he graduate so i think i'm having cold feet now. Does anyone have similar experience and could share if things improve?
