Good day mamas and papas in the house, thank you all for all your advice so far. I am still in mourning mood but I feel it would be nice to share my story on this platform to help other women like me. This is my story, after 5 years of TTC, God blessed me with the fruit of the womb at the age of 37 because I got married late. In my 31 weeks of pregnancy, I went to the hospital and my doctor told me that my baby is breech that they would have to do a c-section for me and that especially because of my old age, the safest thing to do is the c-section. I was so scared because I have heard so many bad things about operations during child delivery so I wanted to be really careful. When I got home, I spoke to my neighbour who has 5 kids already and she told me not to mind hospital that they have a way of telling pregnant women that c-section is the only option for them just because of the money they want to collect. She told me not to worry that she can help me that all I need to do is let her know when I am ready that she would take me to the woman that helped her. The following day, she took me to the woman’s place, the environment was dirty, her place was a shed, but there were about 15 other pregnant women there that came for antenatal so I felt safe. The woman asked me to register and asked for my scan and I showed her and she confirmed that my baby was breech but she said I had nothing to worry about that she would give me herbs to help turn my baby. I used the herbs and on the day of delivery, my husband took me to her. She started the delivery process but the baby wasn’t coming out and I started to lose lots of blood, then she went to change into a white attire and she started to recite some incantations on me but even with that, the baby didn’t come out. My husband was already scared that he even peed on himself. The woman came out and told my hubby that they have to rush me to a nearby general hospital. A cab came and she took us to the hospital, my husband said the moment they carried me in, she entered her cab and told the driver to leave. The doctors tried their nest but my baby was already so weak so I delivered him dead. I had lost too much blood that they had to do a blood transfusion for me. The same c-section I ran from was what they eventually did for me but this time around, my baby was dead. After a week, that I regained consciousness, the doctor explained to me the number of women that have died doing the same mistake I did, he said I was very lucky to have survived that in most cases, both mother and child die. I thank god that today is exactly one year the incident happened, I am alive and I am presently 4 months pregnant. Everyday, I still mourn my son that I killed with my hands. I hope you all learn from my story.
