Are Wigs Really Taking Over?

For me, a woman’s beauty is not in the clothes she wears or the figure she carries, it is her HAIR!. Your hair is literally an accessory, a form of identity, a masterpiece if I must say.

This is why we are willing to break our banks to get that fabulous weave or that sleek million braids. But these days with the current ‘economy’ situation most women are now turning to wigs, yes WIGS!. Wigs go as far back as the beginning of time but I will not bore you with history. Wigs are becoming really popular here in Nigeria, even though they have been trending in the western part of the world, it is trending so much now, even million braids are being turned into wigs.   

Now the question is, are they really taking over? At least 10 out of 15 women wear a wig every other week. Wigs also come with different materials and styles. There are synthetic wigs, which are a lot cheaper but can still get the job done, and there are also those which are made from actual human hair. If you are looking for a wig to fully express yourself, it is advisable that you opt to use synthetic wigs. These wigs come in colours and sizes and can give you the look you want, no matter how outstanding or outrageous it may be.

 

Apart from the fact that it is money-friendly (Well some of them) and that you are entitled to choose from a wide variety of wigs that come in different colours, some women use wigs to aid hair growth because continuous fixing and braiding of the hair can cause damages often resulting in hair loss. While some use it for medical reasons. Nevertheless, wigs improve the look of modern women or get them in style.
