How To Make Tea With Pineapple Peel

As we probably know, pineapples can be made into smoothies, juice or even eaten in cubes as a healthy dessert, but did you know the peel can also be made into a drink? Pineapples are a fibre-rich, tasty and healthy fruit containing vitamin C and a host of nutrients great for the body.

Indeed pineapple peels can be used to make tea; both hot and iced.

What you need:

  • 1 pineapple peel, crown, scraps
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 knob of ginger
  • Water, enough to cover

Directions:

  1. Place everything in a medium pot and pour in your water. Set the heat up to medium-low, and let it simmer for about 25 minutes. Cover the pot with a lid and let it infuse for 20 more minutes.

  2. Then just strain everything into a jar and place it in the fridge until cold. You can also drink it hot, it’s very delicious.
