If you want your child to be smart, you need to engage them and keep them busy with activities that will boost their brain, help them think and get their mind working. Such activities aren't hard to find, there are games and applications designed specifically for kids but if you do not have money to buy them you have many other options.
Here are games your child should play to keep their mind busy;
1. Pop up
This is a game of recognizing faces for your young child, just pop in front of them and take them by surprise, they'll find it quite funny and turn it into a game. Or show them pictures of friends and family they've seen before and ask them for the names of each of the people on each photo you show them. It's a game yet it helps their mind work.
2. Guess!
Wrap an object up, then tell your child to guess what's inside it just by feeling it, allow your child hold it and feel it with their hand for some time as they think of what it might be. You can even give them a clue, this game helps broaden a child's mind as endless answers will come to their mind.
3. Play Time
All work and no play..... So make out time to play with your child, you can play hide and seek and all these games we played when we were kids with your child. They'd find it fun, bond better with you and learn at the same time.
4. Recognize Objects
"Bring me my key" "See that white handkerchief there, bring it" "That round pan is for my friend" When asking them to get you things, ensure that they are learning the names of those things, their colour (white handky) shape and more. With time, they'll start recognising these items and calling them the name they heard you calling them.
5. Sound and Music
If you can, show your child how to make sound with their mouth, bring out music by beating their hand on their chest and mouth or something, or create sound with spoon and plate. Then play and dance to music together, they'll become lovers of music.
6. Interact while Doing Chores
While doing chores, if your child is with you, talk to them. Your child is learning a lot just by watching you, but you can help them learn more by answering some questions that might be going through her mind as they're watching you.
7. Give Apt Reaction
When your child tickles you, laugh, when they slap you, act like you're crying, if they sympathise with you, give them that face that shows you are grateful while saying "thank you." Give the correct reaction so they'd learn the right reaction for a particular time.
