Things Women Experience After A C-Section

Immediately pregnant women are told that they have to deliver their baby through C-section, most of them panic. C-section is seen as a scary experience, coupled with the fact that the procedure is expensive.

Knowing what to expect can help you deal with the fear of C-section though, here are some surprises women who go through C-section get shortly after delivering their baby;

1. Catheterization

After the surgery, the catheter is inserted into a patient's bladder through the urethra, this will make movement complicated due to the catheter which will be kept there for the rest of the day.

2. The scar

Several years after giving birth, you might still notice a slight bump in your skin above the C-section scar. It wouldn't look bad, so...

3. Shivering

Following the surgical procedure, you might begin to shiver as your body gets rid of the anesthesia and calms down from the procedure, most women shiver uncontrollably for some time.

4. Pitocin

While you're recovering after delivery, you will be given Pitocin to help your uterus contract back down post delivery. You can choose not to collect it though.

5. Your first Bowel Movement

I'm sure you would have read about how painful your first bowel movement will be after delivery but nothing you've heard will prepare you for the pain that comes with it.

6. Painful Sex

Did I hear you say "Yeah I've heard this before"? Well, you might think this only applies to people who had vaginal birth, big deal, you may also experience painful sex after C-section due to the aftermath of the surgery.

All in all, whatever happens if the only way you can bring your child into the world is through C-section, be happy doing it, wishing you a safe delivery.
