5 Secrets To Ensure Your Child Rarely Gets Sick

If you look at some kids you'll wonder how their parents do it that they never get sick it's not as if their parents did anything special, they probably inculcated healthy habits into them and they also have a good immune system.

Here are healthy habits your kids should adopt so they don't get sick quickly;

1. Encourage hygiene

Teach your children the importance of washing their hands after leaving school, after playing, before eating and putting their hands in their mouth. Regularly washing their hands will help reduce respiratory and gastrointestinal illness, scrubbing their hands thoroughly is the key to good health.

2. Physical exercise

Kids need regular but moderate physical exercise as studies have shown that exercise reduce the incidence of cold and flu by 25-50% because exercise boost the circulation of infection-fighting cells. Simple exercises for kids include skipping, vigorous dancing, swimming, running, riding bicycle, and taking long walks.

3. Let them get enough rest

Sleep deprivation makes kids cranky and also increases the risk of a child catching cold or flu so make sure your child gets enough sleep. Babies need 14 hours of sleep per day while preschoolers need 11-14 hours of sleep.

4. "No touching of face''

Our hands come in contact with different things and that includes germs and bacteria meanwhile, cold and flu can enter the body through the nose, eyes and mouth. Give them a handkerchief which they can use in cleaning their face instead of touching their face with their hand, they should also avoid sharing personal things such as toothbrush, cup or straw with people.

5. Feed them a balanced diet

Whatever you feed those children will tell on them, if you're feeding them fatty and sugary foods they'll be looking obese but feed them foods with lots of colourful veggies and healthy foods and they'll be looking nourished and their immune system will be hard at work. Vitamin D and C are important for kids.

6. Get them vaccinated

The best way to prevent flu is to get your children flu vaccination

Let me add that the reason I never react to water is because as a baby there was no kind of water I didn't drink, my mother was always catching me drinking dirty water. The truth is the sand babies eat and all the dirty things they stick into their mouth help boost their immune system, the "worser" the conditions they've been exposed to is the tougher their immune system gets.
