So I bought lemons to try out a recipe I read about online, I was about to throw away the lemon peels and the remaining lemon but being who I am, I decided to look for other uses,nothing must go to waste in this change economy. I found out amazing uses for lemons that I never knew existed, every woman will find these tips useful;
1. Get rid of ants and pests
Ants, roaches, and fleas actually hate the smell of lemons, so place lemon peels on thresholds, windowsills, door entrances, or near cracks or holes where ants or pests crawl out of.
2. Removes stain
I never tried this out myself, but lemons are said to be good stain removals, if you have stains on your clothes, rub half a lemon on the stain and leave the garment overnight.
3. Freshen your Fridge
So I tried this out, we've not on our fridge in a while and it's bringing off this musty old smell, so placing a lemon peel or two inside the fridge helps absorb the smell and bring a bright citrus scent.
4. Clean your tea kettle
Removing hard water deposits from kettles, fill the kettle with water and add a handful of thin slices of lemon peel. Let it boil, then turn off the heat. Do not pour the water inside the kettle away immediately, let it be for an hour, then drain and rinse well with water.
5. Clean graters
Graters can be hard to clean, especially cheese graters, rub a half cut lemon over the grater and wash as usual.
Meanwhile, if you've been advised to reduce your salt intake, you can spice your meals with lemon juice, a sour taste will give you the same taste salt will.
