Castor oil is used for a variety of things, it can be used to improve blood circulation, reduce scaring, repair dry and damaged skin and hair but what I’m most interested in is how castor oil pack can be used to boost fertility, improve natural detoxification, and even balance hormones. You may have heard of the procedure, it’s safe and very effective especially when it comes to women’s reproductive health. I’ll explain how the procedure is done, and how you can make castor oil pack yourself to you.

Castor oil is derived from the seeds of the Castor plant, also known as Palma Christi. And has been around a long time.

What is a Castor Oil Pack?

A Castor Oil Pack is a cloth soaked in castor oil which is placed on the skin to enhance circulation and promote healing of the tissues and organs underneath the skin.

Uses Of Castor Oil Pack

Castor oil can be used for a variety of purpose, but when it comes to fertility, castor oil packs are used over the abdomen / reproductive organs, they can help;

  • Improve circulation to the reproductive organs
  • Shrink & eliminate ovarian cysts, uterine fibroids, and endometriosis
  • Dissolve pelvic adhesions and scaring
  • Reduce menstrual cramps
  • Clear blocked fallopian tubes
  • Energize the intestines and support healthy bowel movements
  • Increase the production of lymphocyte, which supports a strong immune system

Things you need

  • A bottle of high quality organic castor oil (inside glass bottle).
  • Wool or cotton flannel. If you buy a castor oil pack it will be there but if not, you can use a cotton rag or shirt, cut it into a 8 by 8 pieces. This is what you’ll soak in castor oil.
  • A hot water bottle. Do not use an electric heating pad.
  • A plastic sheet to place between the soaked piece of flannel and your heat source. Cut one to two inches larger than the flannel
  • A towel
  • Container with lid. So you can put your soaked piece of flannel into it after you are done. Place it in the fridge when you are done as you can reuse it.
  • Old clothes and sheets. Castor oil will stain clothing and bedding.

Caution!

Do not drink castor oil! Neither should you apply it to broken skin. It should not be used during pregnancy, breastfeeding, or menstruation. And if you’re trying to conceive, stop using it after ovulation has occurred.

It’s possible that you are allergic or sensitive to the oil, so before using a castor oil pack, test your sensitivity to the oil by rubbing a little bit of the oil on the skin of your arm. Wait an hour to be sure you are not sensitive or allergic to the oil.

How to Use a Castor Oil Pack

1. Find a place where you won’t be disturbed, gather your supplies, lie down and relax for 30 to 60 minutes.

2. Soak the flannel cloth with castor oil until it’s all covered with the oil.

3.  Place the soaked flannel cloth on the piece of plastic and set aside.

4. Apply some castor oil directly to the skin on the area you have chosen to work with (lower abdomen if it’s for fertility issues) and massage it in.

5. Cover the flannel with a sheet of plastic, and then place a hot water bottle over the plastic to heat the pack. Cover everything with a towel so the heat doesn’t escape and relax.

6. Lay down, relax and leave the castor oil pack for 30-60 minutes. You can leave it on for longer though.

7. After you are done, carefully remove the towel, heating pad and plastic. You can choose to discard the plastic or keep it for future use. Place the soaked piece of flannel into your glass jar and put it in the refrigerator, so that you may reuse it (Each pack may be reused up to 25-30 times ).

8. Gently wash off the castor oil from your skin with a gentle soap.

Young children have poorly developed swallowing reflexes, and so they usually end up swallowing the large amounts of toothpaste they add to the brush even though they have been advised to use pea sized toothpaste when brushing for kids.

Health experts have conducted a long-term study to specifically measure the impact of building good brushing habits in young children and demonstrating the positive long-term impact of brushing day and night for two minutes, every day. Just two years into the study, children who were participating had already experienced a significant reduction in dental cavities.

The Nigerian Dental Association (NDA) also recommends that you brush your teeth twice daily using fluoride toothpaste for fresh breath and to avoid dental diseases such as tooth decay, swollen gums, bad breath, sensitivity and tooth stains.

While most toothpastes contain fluoride and it should not be ingested while brushing your teeth because it can cause permanent tooth discoloration (dental fluorosis), stomach ailments, acute toxicity, skin rashes (perioral dermatitis), and impairment in glucose metabolism.
