Married women of Mamalette, when you look back on your wedding, what are you glad that you did/ spent money on and what do you regret/was a waste of money?

I just got engaged and neither my fiancé or I are interested in having a big or expensive wedding. At the same time, I don’t want to do nothing and regret later on that we didn’t have some sort of celebration.

We were thinking about doing the ceremony privately in church on a weekday with just a few family and friends, then later go to my fathers house for a quiet reception.

I would love to hear from women that are married what parts of your wedding were meaningful to you and what parts didn’t actually matter after the fact?
(eg. dress, flowers, cake, photographer, food, venue, etc.)
