Please I need answer to this. Returning of bride price is it just returning of dowry or everything they used during the traditional marriage, I mean Ikwerre and Yoruba tradition? This is my story; I am 27 years old married to a 36 years old man… I dated him for 6 years before we finally got married 3 years ago. No issues yet, when I was going out with him he did everything a man needs to do for his girlfriend, but ever since we got married he believes his responsibility is just to feed me and give me shelter, I was working before I met him though I lost the job after our wedding because I got pregnant immediately after our wedding and my office doesn’t allow pregnant women to work with them, since then I have not gotten any job, I have just been managing my life. The problem now is that my husband is just maltreating me as if am a slave….was at home one day when his younger sister came to my house and was telling that she does not like the way her brother is treating me, that the only thing she can tell me is to leave her brother and move on with my life cause she feel for me,that is not that her brother does not have the money to open any business but his just spending the money with his friends and brothers that I should be wise(which I know that’s what he uses his money for) and as its stands now the only way I can get money from his hand is only when I have children for him.
