Good morning house, I got the biggest embarrassment of my life when my fiance and I went to the registry. Our wedding is scheduled for next month and I just found out at the registry that my wife has been married before but in Kogi state not Lagos. They kept asking us if either of us had done this before and at first she said no then later she said yes just because they said they had to check their archive to be sure both of us are eligible to be married legally. I remembered she was against us getting legally married and I asked why she said nothing that it is just stressful but I insisted and I got embarrassed. I asked her about her first marriage and she said the man is 24 years older than she is and that she was barely 18 when her parents forced her to marry the man. She said the man beat her day and night and that when she couldn't take it anymore, she ran away and came to Lagos to stay with her aunt. She said she didn't want me to know because all the men she has been with after her first marriage always leave her once they know she has been married once before so she decided that it is until after her marriage with another man that she will tell him she used to be married before. I am really angry because she lied to me, she tricked me into marrying her, she is good, very decent, well behaved, beautiful and she's just 27 years old. I didn't think she would have gone through so much drama in her life. She told me her parents were late before but now she's telling me they are alive in Kogi, that she stopped communicating with them when she ran away from her marriage. I don't even know what to believe. I don't know who I am getting married too but one thing I know is that the drama surrounding her is just too much for me to handle. Please my marriage to this woman is a month away, would you advise we proceed and I help her with the annulment of her first marriage or should I just run and not look back?
