Question My sister in law is dealing with infertility but has taken to my child
Anonymous asked 4 days ago

I dont really know how to deal with this issue but I am hoping to get some advice here. My wife’s older sister has been married now for 8 years with no children. My wife and I got married 3 years ago and are now blessed with 2 children. When my first child was born, my wifes sister was always in our house helping with the baby. I thought that was very nice of her and appreciated the gesture but of recent I have been becoming worried about her behaviour towards my son. She seems to be obsessed with him and treats him like he is her own child, she has asked us on numerous occasions to take him to her house for the weekend but I have told my wife that will not be happening. Her behaviour is becoming a little too much for me. Of recent I heard her telling my wife, that God forbid anything happens to us, she should not be worried as my children will be well taken care of by them. This Christmas she made sure the presents she gave my son was more expensive than what we could afford to give him. Is younger sibling is still a baby so she more or less ignores her. Everytime I bring up the issue of her being too close or obsessed with my son, my wife says I am overreacting and that she does not mean harm. I dont know what to think? Is this behaviour on her part normal and how do I tell her to stop coming and giving my son presents?
