A woman on the bus today disciplined a another womans disruptive child.
The mother sat down in front of us in the BRT bus with her little boy who must have been about 4 years old. The mother did not intend to lap the child as I heard her telling the conductor shes paying for 2 seats. She told her child please sit down but the boy said no and continued to stand. At one point he was even trying to climb on the sit. The woman warned him but the boy continued this behaviour while laughing. At the time I was wondering why she wouldnt just spank or pinch him as by now everyone was looking at them. Then the bus made a sudden stop and the boy fell down, hitting his head really hard in the process. He then started crying loudly. The people around me were so annoyed with this woman’s inability to discipline her child that one older woman shouted at both of them and warned the boy to behave himself. My first thought was that this woman had no right to speak to a strangers child like that. But then I got to thinking, maybe she does. Is it right to discipline another person’s child in public?
