When Mamalettes were asked, “why do women cheat?” The one answer that was common was “It’s in their blood” “All men are born cheats” I beg to disagree! I’m a man and even though I’ve cheated on my girlfriends in the past, I’ve never cheated on my wife in the 6 years of our marriage and nope, my dad never cheated on my mom, so let’s get that out of the way before we discuss the other reasons why men cheat.
I happen to know that unlike women, men flaunt their cheating, they tell their friends about the girl last night, how good or bad she was and if they’d like to have a sexual encounter with her again. Meanwhile, if while discussing this in the office or in the company of their other friends, a friend who has never cheated on his wife may hear them and wonder what it will be like to do the same and be able to join in the male prowess gist.
He might even start making plans as to how to find a girl that he’ll have the encounter with, once he tries once, he can be lost especially if his wife doesn’t find out and bring him back on track like asap.
Here are the responses I got from other men when I asked them this question;
1. Women are like fruits
Yeah, women are like mango, blackcurrant, banana, apple and men love to eat salad. Meaning, each fruit has its unique taste and men want to dip into each fruit and check out its flavour.
2. The fun of the hunt
While some men don’t intentionally go chasing men, they are sometimes tempted to do it. Women love to be appreciated and to be chased, when they start their hide and seek game, it’s usually thrilling and adventurous for men to see where the journey will lead and if they can successfully catch the fish and so they give chase.
3. Food eaten in secret is sweet
I don’t know what it is about cheating but even if the lady isn’t as sweet as their wife, they’d still like sex with her better, but then with their wife, they can get it anytime, but with the other lady, it rarely happens and that makes it sweeter.
4. To prove a point
Men often talk about their cheating escapades, so another man who has never cheated may be tempted to cheat just to see how tasty the forbidden fruit is. So they go ahead and cheat to prove a point “Yes, I can”, “I am man enough to cheat and not get caught”, or to simply convince himself that he is a man too, after all.
5. Lack Of A Good Example
A boy who grows up in a family that’s one and his dad never for once cheated on his mom is less likely to cheat on his wife, but one that knew his dad cheated on his mom and they stayed married for years after will feel he can cheat and get away with it because his wife has no choice than to accept his shi*t.
6. Some women want them to
Believe it or not, some women push their husband to cheat, a woman friend once confided in him about how she knows her husband’s mistress, when I opened my mouth, she confessed that it’s a relief, her husband’s sexual urge was beyond normal at a point she had to be like “abeg find another means, I can’t come and die” if this woman’s husband cheats, I’m not sure it can’t be called cheating, she sanctioned it!
Meanwhile, all these are reasons men cheat on their wives besides the common, “she pushed him outside, she’s not good enough in bed, he’s just tired of her” which we usually hear from women. These are from real men, but whatever the reasons are, nothing excuse cheating! If you can’t discipline and control yourself you aren’t man enough to be married!
In the six years of my marriage, I never cheated on my wife, not because I didn’t have the opportunity but the 10 minutes of enjoyment is not worth the trouble it will cause in my marriage. Matured men don’t eat worms that’ll get stuck in their throat, grow up and stop cheating on your woman!
