I noticed how rascally my neighbour’s son is, and little wonder why. His mom is one of those “Victor! Ah! If I catch you today, you’ll call death! Just don’t let me catch you” angry kind of mom. Then the boy got into the habit of running around the house to avoid being beaten, sometimes for the whole day you won’t see him around, all his mom’s shouts have become ordinary bark to him.
Compare him to other children whose mom’s aren’t grumpy and always angry and you’d see the difference. The difference between children raised by happy moms and angry moms is always clear, and here’s what they do differently;
#1. Happy mums choose their battles wisely
Happy moms don’t fight their children over every little thing, they know exactly when to put down their foot and ascertain their authority and when to back off. Kids need some space and if you don’t quit crowding them, you’ll have a problem on your hands.
#2. Happy mums don’t expect perfection
Not only do they not expect perfection from their kids but even themselves. They don’t fret because some house chores haven’t been done, they just let things take their due course as there’s no straight rule to doing things. She expects the best from her kids but doesn’t fret when they don’t deliver because she knows it’s good for kids to learn from their mistakes.
#3. Happy mums radiate warmth and happiness
Happy moms bring up happy children because they radiate warmth and light up their home with their positive energy. So when you enter their home you are relaxed as they are a symbol of care and motherly love. A grumpy woman makes you uncomfortable in her home even her children won’t want to be around her.
#4. Happy mums are playful
Kids of happy moms are usually very friendly as their mother bonds with them and encourage them to mix up with other kids when they see their mother doing the same. Usually, happy mothers have a good parenting experience and are never too big to roll around in the grass playing with their kids.
#5. Happy mums are good listeners
They make their kids want to come to them and spill out everything because they really listen and care about their kids’ problems then try to understand and help their kids with a situation. And no matter how tough a matter is when your child knows you won’t scream “holy hell” but listen and give her the best solution she’ll always come to you.
#6. Happy mums impart wisdom
Through play, everyday life, and good modelling, happy mums expand their kid’s mind. They learn with their kids and share their knowledge with them and are eager to listen to their kid’s opinion giving them the confidence that their knowledge counts too.
#7. Happy mums love being happy
It’s not every day that moms are happy, but happy moms are happy because they love being happy. Positive thinking and attitude help them stay happy
And if you’re happy, you’ll parent happy kids, but if you’re grumpy, your kids will be even grumpier! Be a good role model to your kids.
