Using traditional lubricants can work against you when trying to conceive. Some little things can disturb the process of fertilization. When trying to conceive, sex might not be as exciting and spontaneous like before and this may make you very dry. If you have this kind of situation, lubrication is what comes to mind, while some use commercial lubricant others use saliva. Using traditional lubricant like saliva and body cream can work against you if you’re trying to conceive.

I heard that using saliva to lubricate can kill the sperm probably because of the germs and organism in saliva. A research has shown that sperm motility is dramatically reduced when it comes into contact with many of the commonly available personal lubricants. Instead, use sperm-friendly or water based lubricant.
I had no idea that something as little as lubricant can affect my fertility so I went in search of lubricants which are termed “sperm-friendly” and I found out that pre-seed is a sperm-friendly lubricant.

Pre-seed is a sperm friendly lubricant that would actually mimic vaginal fluids, allowing the sperm to swim inside easily. For those who had a short supply of cervical mucus, Pre-Seed is the natural choice, as it is believed it would provide an even better medium for the sperm.

But if you find that you can’t handle applicators. The Pre-seed tube lubricant comes with a dozen applicators, so you don’t just apply the lubricant topically but you have to apply the lubricant with an applicator for a better result. I must warn you that they don’t come cheap and can’t be found in just any supermarket or store.

The other options you have which are considered sperm-friendly are;

  • Canola oil: This oil won’t cause infection and it’s sperm friendly too
  • Egg whites: Egg whites are the best natural cervical mucus and it’s just as good as any other lubricant and sperm friendly too.
  • Olive oil: is a natural oil which has the right level of pH and won’t hinder sperm from entering the cervix.
  • Coconut oil: You don’t have to be worried about getting infected by using coconut oil, it’s a natural antifungal and sperm can easily swim in it.
