Some Babies Are Born With Traits That Make Them More Aggressive

Aggression-in-childrenAggression can be generally defined as any behavior intended to destroy another person’s property or to injure another person, physically or psychologically.

Parents who have toddlers or young child that are quick to hit, bite, kick, or fight with other people, always wonder if they are doing something wrong.

The often wonder whether their child’s behavior is their fault.

Well a new study shows that some babies are born with traits that make them more aggressive.

Researchers suggest that physical aggression in toddlers is strongly associated with genetic factors and to a lesser degree with the environment.

The study which was led by a team from University of Montreal, ‘worked with the parents of identical and non-identical twins to evaluate and compare their behavior, environment and genetics’.

Eric Lacourse who led the study comments that,

“Genetic factors always explained a substantial part of individual differences in physical aggression.”

He recommends that parents can change the behaviours of their child from an early stage. This is because various studies of physical aggression have shown that most children, adolescent and adults can learn to use alternatives to physical aggression.
