Almost all young children bed-wet, it really is not a cause for concern until they come of age where it’s expected that they’d be able to control it.

Most children achieve some degree of bladder control by 4 years of age. When grown children keeps bed-wetting it causes distress in both children and their mother.

A Mamalette asked this question on our forum;

“Dear Mamalettes, please how can I stop my 8 years and 6 years old children from bed-wetting? They don’t eat dinner and no more drinking of water for them once it’s 6 pm, I wake them up any moment I’m awake in the night to urinate, yet they will still bed-wet and they always feel sad for that, thanks for your advice”

Our Mamalettes responded and these are some of their responses:

Bed-wetting usually goes away on its own, and unlike adults children urinate much more frequently, in some cases as often as 10-12 times each day. So set bed-wetting alarms, making sure that they play less when it’s getting late, do not yell or purnish your child for bed-wetting, let him take care of cleaning up himself, since he’s old enough to do that. And if there’s a day he doesn’t bed-wet make sure to praise him.
