Toddlers are a handful but while we are busy talking about how troublesome they are, let’s not forget about their awesome personality.
So if you’re still nursing a baby, I encourage you to look forward to their toddlerhood, and when it comes, I can assure you you’ll be neck deep in the wonderful world of toddlers, they’ll knock your pants off every day.
Toddlers are awesome, and these are some of things that are awesome about them;
1. They tell it the way they see it
Toddlers don’t know how to lie or sugar coat. They say it straight, they might tell you, you stink to your face, tell the guest about how smelly daddy’s poop is. The good thing about their honesty is that it will be easy to gauge their emotions and know what’s going on in their head. So when’s she’s angry or upset, ask her why.
2. They have a large energy store
Immediately your baby graduates to toddlerhood, that’s the end to cuddling for long hours. They can engage in various activities in the day and still come back home scattering everywhere, their store of energy just never runs dry, and it’s amazing. You’ll chase them around, play with them and yet they’ll want more.
3. They’re sassy
Toddlers are definitely as sassy as sassy comes. And they have attitude, reprimand them and they’ll stick out their tongue at you, hiss, talk back to you, roll their eyes and you’ll wonder where they got all the attitude from. They aren’t just showing you that side of them, everyone will get it from them.
4. They say “I love you” and they mean it
They find it very easy to say that, and not only do they say it, they mean it. The first time they wrap their chubby hands around you and tell you “I love you mommy” you’ll fight very hard to fight back the tears. That’s one of the first joys of motherhood.
5. They tell on everyone
If daddy talks to a fair lady on the way home, she’ll tell you. If grandma called her mother a bitch, she’ll come home and tell you. They are the watch guard, and all you have to do is ask a few questions and they’ll talk. Careful though, their loyalty lies nowhere, so watch what you do around them as they might actually tell on you too.
6. The laughter
Toddlers are almost always laughing. And they have different types of laughter, the giggle, the mocking laugh, the half laugh half cry, the false laugh, and the wheeze, so if you have toddler(s) in your house, your home will be filled with laughter. Sweet little beings that they are.
7. They’re always learning
A toddler’s brain is programmed to be learning, and no matter how distracted she looks she’s still learning something, your child will explore and discover a lot of things on their own. And that’s why parents are always being advised to watch what they do around their children.
8. They really do care
The first time you’re crying and your toddler cuddles you and says “mommy don’t cry, sorry you hear. I’ll buy you sweet” while wiping away your tears you’ll marvel at how sweet they can be. And if she can’t talk she might actually start crying because you are. True you are their mother, but they care just like you do.
Even though toddlers are a handful, they are sweet and awesome and before you complain, think about their awesome personalities first.
