7 Things Your Second Baby Will Do Sooner Than Your First

Often times we expect our second child to go through the same experience as our first child but that is not always the case, like my first child was slow in doing everything, he didn’t start crawling until he was almost a year, and I was so worried, he didn’t walk on time either my second child on the other hand, started rolling over before her 6th month, started crawling before she was 8 months old, in short with her, everything was fast compared to my first child. It’s quite common and normal for a second child to experience things sooner and that’s why I’m warning you to be ready.

Here are the things your second child will experience early;

1. Catch a cold

No matter how hygienic you try to be, you can’t totally protect your second child from kid germs. Your first child will stick dirty things in his mouth claiming he likes it, I recently caught my 3-year-old son sticking his dirty fingers into my baby’s mouth, and when I looked at him in askance his answer was “she likes it”.

2. Watch TV

I waited two years before allowing my first baby watch TV but now that baby number two is in the picture, do I cover the eyes of my little one when toddler is watching Barney? I couldn’t help this.

3. Eat ice cream

Even if the ice cream wasn’t meant for him, your toddler will offer it to baby number 1 and since babies are usually curious and wanting to try new foods especially cold and sweet. Meanwhile, when baby finally start eating solids they ought to start with rice cereal, oatmeal, sweet potatoes, bananas right? Not my fault either, blame the toddler!

4. Get hurt

I know we moms are supposed to have eyes everywhere, but when one of eye is watching my kid who is about to fall off the swing before I look back, my little baby who is just learning how to sit, falls and roll over. Oops! Band aids please!

5. Get dirty

Second babies will be exposed to all kinds of mucky, oh so-ew! mess especially sand, mud and even glue, don’t fret, it will help build their immunity.

I don’t know how true this is, but I hear second kids talk later than the first child, although mine was quick to talk, probably because she’s a girl and has a brother who is a chatter box.
