Pregnancy is a moment of great joy for every woman, growing a human in you gives you this feeling of happiness and radiance, but to say the truth, not every aspect of pregnancy is beautiful, and if you’re a first time mom, these things might actually surprise and disgust you at the same time;

1. Panty liners are your best friend

If you’re hoping that when you’re pregnant you’ll stop using pantyliners, don’t get your hopes us dear. Doctors say you’ll experience a little extra discharge but that “little” is not little at all, in fact it’s a waterfall of discharge and if you don’t use a pantyliner, God help you. And this might be the case until you after the pregnancy and maybe beyond.

2. You will pee yourself

When you’re heavily pregnant, just don’t laugh too hard or you’ll pee yourself or fart and damn! That’d be embarrassing, word of advise use panty liner, so it will catch the extra fluid when baby lands you a swift kick or you laugh too hard and pee yourself.

3. Unsolicited Advice and Unofficial Pregnancy Experts

I think this isn’t new, pregnant get unsolicited advice from experienced mothers who are experts in the field all the time, your brain will be filled with information and if you’re not careful, you might actually scream at your mother-in-law in frustration when she advises that you “drink some sort of concoction” so baby will be born safely. Easy does it.

4. Pregnancy mood

I’ve heard about how hormones are actively hard at work during pregnancy, I thought it was a scam but it’s really real and uncool. I woke up in the night feeling so hungry only to find out that the food I left in the fridge was gone, and you know what? I burst into tears and woke up my husband with soft blows “you ate my food, you ate my food”I said while crying like a baby. When I remembered what happened the next morning, I laughed until I peed myself. That’s pregnancy for you.

5. Nipple Changes

Yeah, I knew my nipple will become dark but I didn’t know that my orange coloured nipple will become as dark as charcoal as if someone coloured them with black paint.

6. Baby Movement

Baby movement is normal but no one said it could be annoying. Babies stretch, kick madly and punch too, sometimes when my baby stretched I felt like my tummy was going to burst open and he was going to come right out of my tummy. There were times when I could see the outline of his head when he stretched.

7. Immune System

If someone say pregnant women’s immune system is tough again, I swear I might clamp the person’s mouth shut, when you’re pregnant, it’s the opposite. Your immune system has to lower it’s power so it wouldn’t hurt your baby which makes it easy for cold, flu, infection and sickness to attack you.

Now you’ve been warned, pregnancy is sweet but there are some not-so-sweet sides to it.
