During delivery you can't think right in fact you are in another world and you'll probably do anything to make the pain go away and get the ordeal over with. There are some events that will take you totally by surprise and you might make wrong decisions since you were not prepared for them, so yes even if your child was safely given birth to, you may wish you can change some things. Here are the top mistakes moms make during delivery that they later regret;
1. Making the delivery room a viewing centre
If you gave birth in a sophisticated hospital, they can allow every of your family members inside the delivery room if you so wish, I know my friend had her mom, husband and sister in the delivery room with her. Sometimes moms end up regretting it, when they hear remarks from those people.
2. Giving birth in the hospital
After giving birth in the hospital, you might wish you had given birth to your baby at home with the help of a midwife. When women whose pregnancy was hitch free start relieving their home birth experience, how they gave birth while in a squatting position(which hospitals won't allow), how they took a warm bath to relieve the pain and how easy the birth was you might wish you had given birth at home. Console yourself with the fact that you gave birth safely so have no regrets!
3. Skipping antenatal Classes
Whether it was for lack of time or whatever, if you never attended antenatal class, you might get to the delivery room and regret not attending that maybe it would have better prepare you for labour and birth. You found out too late that antenatal class is important.
4. Getting an epidural
When the pain of labour becomes unbearable, you'll feel like you'd die if the pain doesn't get relieved and you therefore requested for an epidural guess what while at the recovery room, you might start wishing you had muster all your power and withstand the pain.
5. Being Rushed In For That C-Section
If you elected for a C-section or your doctor talked you into it and you accepted without thinking about whether it's the best for you or not. After the delivery, the realisation that vaginal birth is nearly impossible in the future and that few weeks after the surgery you won't be mobile may bring regrets.
6. Giving in to your doctor
7. Not Breastfeeding Right After Birth
That first bonding that breastfeeding affords is most cherished by moms, but if it happens that you couldn't breastfeed your baby because you had a C-section or the nurse didn't give you time to do that before whisking your baby away you might later have regrets.
