5 Things I CAN’T Wait To Do Once My Kids Are Back In School

I read a post here where a Mamalette talked about having morning sex with her husband and I must confess I was jealous. I don’t have grandparents to take my children to so right now I just want the holiday to be over already! So I can have some frigging alone time with myself, I love my children but hey! It ain’t wrong for a mother to want some space without having to listen to the bickering, screaming and fights of her little soldiers is it?

I know exactly what I’ll do with that free time and just the thought of it has me going all excited, ’cause I’ll be having so much fun! My youngest son is starting kindergarten and even though some mothers have wet dream at the school gate, I tell you, my tears will dry up quickly … and by that I mean as soon as I get out of the school parking lot.

1. Self-care

There are some sorts of pampering I love to give myself, but not when the kids are around, now I can do those, yay! I’m going to do some nice cleaning up, even my husband will notice the rebranding. I’ll start from taking a hot shower, shave the hair off my legs, then loud the music sing loudly along and dance to it like I’m going gaga.

2. Spend as much time as I’d like to on my makeup

This time around, there’d be no 3-year-old digging in my eye shadow palette or rubbing my lipstick on his face, and I don’t have to worry that my son is eating my lipstick while my back is turned.

3. Reconstruct my diet

With the kids around and all, I’ve been eating pretty much anything I see around, and where’s the time to burn off the extra calories through exercise? In two weeks, I’ve only ate 3 healthy meals , the others are junks because my kids love junks so there’s no harm in joining them, is there? But now I can watch what I put in my mouth.

4. Be a little self-indulgent without being judged

I can go on a shopping spree and no 7 years old will be asking me, “Mommy do we have the money for that?”  “Are we rich? Buy me a dress too” As if mommy can’t pamper herself once in a while especially to please their daddy, my dear hubby.

5. Answer phone calls without interruption

You can’t understand why this is important unless you’re in my shoes, I can’t receive a single call without having one tiny kid dragging the phone with me, or having to cover the phone and shout “Cut it off silly! Do you want to break her neck!” Having a phone call without disturbance is really an indulgent exercise.
