Baby oil can come in handy even after your baby stop using it, besides massage, and lubricating (you know what) there are other uses for your baby oil. If you need to detangle, soften, de-scum, smooth out, depilate, shine-up or de-squeak something? Say no more; baby oil is your best bet. Meaning baby oil is not only for babies!
Here are the other uses of baby oil;
1. Bath oil
I’ve seen movies where the lady poured oil into her tub so yeah I did the same and I loved the experience. You can make some bubbles to make the experience more pleasant. Clean up the tub with a towel after so the next bather doesn’t slip and fall.
2. Bath gel enhancer
You can add a half cup of baby oil to your shower gel to help soften your skin.
3. After-bath moisturizer
And if you aren’t ready to be cleaning up an oily tub every time you bath you can rub your body with baby oil after drying up yourself with towel.
4. Makeup remover
Dampened a cotton ball with baby oil to clean off eye shadow, eyeliner and every other eye make up that can irritate your skin before going to sleep.
5. Lip scrub
You can make a lip scrub by mixing a teaspoon of baby oil, ½ teaspoon of sugar and a few drops of lemon juice together. Rub it lightly on your lips every night to remove dead skin.
6. Massage oil
You need a massage oil? Use baby oil! It’s cheap and efficient!
7. Fix for scaly feet
If the back of your feet looks like a scaly lizard, rub some baby oil on it before going to sleep, then wear a pair of socks. Your feet will soften up.
8. Remove a stuck ring
Did your hands swell up because of pregnancy or air travel? Trickle a little baby oil on the puffy digit and gradually ease off the ring.
10. Paint remover
Did you or your husband paint a room and you’ve got paints all over your hands and you can’t get it all off? Rub paint spatters with baby oil in circles from the outside in without applying too much pressure. Then wash off the oil with soap and water.
11. Adhesive bandage remover
Time to change the Band-Aid on your kid’s knee? Rub it with oil and wait awhile; the adhesive should come off by itself.
12. Price sticker remover
If the sticker that comes with a glass, plastic item or china refuse to come off, rub in some oil and wait a bit. The sticker should peel off much more easily. Not for clothes or papers.
13. Zipper fixer
If your zipper suddenly start acting up, use a cotton ball to apply oil until the zip returns to a zipper. Be careful not to stain the garment with oil.
14. Cradle cap reliever
Your infant might have some sort of scaly patches on their scalp, it’s called cradle cap and it’s pretty common but can be distressing to parents. Rub a small amount of baby oil onto the child’s head and let it soak in for a few minutes before shampooing.
15. Bubble gum remover
Did your kids stick gum into their hair, chair, skin or other surface? Easy! Rub a small amount of oil into it, it will soften the gum and you can gradually comb it out.
I hope this helps! Meanwhile, your child can go bald from sticking gum to their head so don’t let them chew gum.
