Baby Market Terms & Conditions

Please read very carefully our terms and conditions.

By entering the sale venue as a seller or by filling the seller application form, you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions. Please make sure you have read and understood these, if you have any further questions please contact us.

Advertising leaflets: Businesses or individuals may advertise with us by placing flyers on our registration table. Leaflets to be included on the registration table must be no larger than A5, and we will require 100 leaflets per sale to be supplied with payment.

Bookings: Baby Market by Mamalette bookings are subject to availability.  All bookings are made on a first come first served basis, following receipt of an online application form with payment. A booking is only secured once full payment has been received.

Cancellation of a booking:  If you wish to cancel a booking for a stall or flyer advert, you must do so as soon as possible before the sale. If notice is given up to 3 weeks before the sale date, cancellations after this date will not be refunded.  Sellers and advertisers are given a full refund if they notify us up to 3 weeks before the sale date, after this point, no refund will be given.

Cancellation of a Baby Market by Mamalette: If for any reason Baby Market does not take place or has to change dates or venues, all seller places will automatically be booked onto the next available sale date or refunded in full.

Collecting your unsold items: Unsold items must be collected by 6.00 pm. Any unsold items remaining at the venue 24 hours after 6:00 pm on the day of the event, will become the property of Baby Market by Mamalette and we may resell them or donate them to a charity shop.

Commission: Absent sellers pay 30% commission to Baby Market by Mamalette, volunteering sellers gets 10 % commission. We keep a record of all our volunteers and the commission rates will be applied after a sale using this record.  The reduced rate of commission only applies to all-day volunteers who have helped between the hours of 9.30 am and 5 pm.

Complaints: Any complaints relating to the sale itself (not about an item which has been bought and is deemed to be faulty – please see Refunds section below) should be emailed or sent in writing as soon as possible after the sale.  We will acknowledge your complaint within 7 days of receipt, and we will aim to have the matter resolved within 14 days. We do not offer any financial compensation other than those outlined in the ‘Refunds’ section below.

Condition of items: All items have to be in ‘nearly new’ or new condition – clean, complete and in working order. Any items found to be dirty, outworn, incomplete, unsafe, faulty or broken will be removed from the sale and the seller will be notified. Baby Market by Mamalette reserves the right to cancel or block a seller’s future bookings with us if their items do not comply with our quality standards. (please check all equipment)

Confirmation of Bookings: In order to book a place we need both the seller registration form and payment, we cannot reserve places without this two things in place. We would confirm every individual booking by email, but in the event that there is a problem with a booking or we have run out of seller places, we will notify you immediately. Bookings are confirmed with receipt of the seller pack. If we run out of seller places and you have submitted an application form, we will contact you and offer to roll over your place to the next available sale, or we will issue a full refund of any seller fees already paid.

Dropping off your items: Sellers must drop off their items within the designated time slot at the drop-off point at the sale venue.  Sellers arriving earlier than their time slot leave their items at their own risk as we are not able to process them until the times stated.

Items we cannot sell: For credibility purposes, we are not permitted to sell:

  • Overused and worn out items

Any such items will be removed from the sale and the seller will be notified. Baby Market by Mamalette has the right to cancel future bookings with us if a seller does not comply with the above guidelines.

Lost Property: we try our best to look after your items during a sale, but often labels become detached or separated. Any items not bearing a label will be clearly displayed as ‘lost property’ and can be viewed when sellers pick up their unsold items. Any remaining lost property will become the property of Baby Market by Mamalette and we may resell or donate these items to a charity shop.  Baby Market by Mamalette accepts no liability for loss or damage of items, howsoever caused.

Ownership of items: Baby Market by Mamalette aims to look after all items offered for sale, but they remain the seller’s property until the point of sale when ownership passes to the buyer. Baby Market by Mamalette does not accept responsibility for the quality and safety of any item offered for sale, the responsibility rests with the seller prior to the sale and with the buyer following the sale. Please read the ‘Refunds’ section below if there is a problem with an item you have bought.

Refunds: Items are sold as seen, and must be checked carefully by the prospective buyer before purchase. If in doubt, do not buy the item in question and alert a member of our volunteer team to have the item removed from the sale. If any items you have bought are deemed to be faulty, you must notify us by email at [email protected] within 24 hours of the sale ending, stating the seller number, item description, price and any details of the fault.  We will then notify the seller and see to it that the matter resolved.  If a refund is to be given, the item must be returned to us together with the original sale label within 2-3 days of the sale. Items without the original label cannot be refunded, this does not affect your statutory rights.  All refunds are only to be given in exceptional circumstances at the sole discretion of Baby Market by Mamalette and/or its representative.

Seller stalls: bookings will be confirmed by email prior to the sale. The venue will provide you with the number of tables paid for.

Venue: By taking part in Baby Market by Mamalette event, either as a buyer, seller or trader, you acknowledge and accept the rules of the venue. All publicly accessible areas will be clearly signposted.  Our venue is a working schools and may have other events taking place at the same time. Please keep all fire exits clear and treat the venue with respect.

Volunteer benefits: Only volunteers who help between the hours of 9 am and 6pm may keep their seller number for the next sale, enabling them to put unsold items straight back into the next sale. This only applies for the next consecutive sale date after volunteering, or a specified sale date which is agreed with Baby Market by Mamalette in advance.  All-day volunteers may also browse and shop before the doors open to the general public, and may also have this opportunity during the ‘clear down’ after the sale… volunteers are not permitted to ‘shop’ whilst the general public are in the sales hall.
